The administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Carpenter Stanton Timothy Stanton and Benjamin Stanton the Executors in the said will named They being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In Testimony whereof We have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed Witness Edward Ely Esq. Surrogate of the said County at Goshen the fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and seventeen [4 Feb 1817] and of our Independence the Forty first --

Newburgh June 14th 1816 I William Stanton In the name of God Amen I consecrate my body after all my [h]onest debts are paid I commit my body to the earth deasont[?] buried being in sound mind and memory I do hereby dispose and bequeath unto my loving wife Maha Stanton all my whole and real estate for her support as long as she shall live then after her disece [decease] I give and bequeath to my sons William Stanton & Benjamin Stanton & Timothy Stanton & Carpenter Stanton my four sons all my whole and real estate to be equally divided between them all excepting two
hundred dollars that must be paid out of the estate to my son Timothy Stanton I give and and [sic] bequeath to William Stanton & Benjamin Stanton & Timothy Stanton & Carpenter Stanton & Susannah the wife of Daniel Totten all my moveable estate to be equally divided among the five I give and bequeath to my daughter Susannah the wife of Daniel Totten twenty pound in money as her part of the real estate I do hereby order and appoint Carpenter Stanton and Timothy Stanton and Benjamin Stanton my sons to be my lawfull executors to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date first above written

That at the time thereof he the said deceased was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of his knowledge and belief

The People of the State of Newyork, by the Grace of God Free and Independent: To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting. Know ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the thirty first day of October [31 Oct] instant before David H. Tuthill Surrogate of our said County of Orange, the last will and testament of George Stanton late of the town of NewBurgh in the said County or Orange deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is not approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods chattels or credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong to us; the administration of all and singular, the goods chattels & credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Isaac Wood one of the Executors in the said will named he being, first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account when thereunto required. And first I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me and for my body to the earth from whence it came hopeing[sic] through the death and suffering of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to have a joyful resurrection, and for such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bestow on me I dispose of the same in the following manner and first I order and direct that all my Real estate be equally divided between my daughter Philena Belknap my son Samuel Stanton and Catherine Stanton widow of Richard Stanton deceased

my son Samuel's third part to remain in the hands of my executors for his benefit and they the said executors dispose of it to Samuel as they may think fit and proper for his support and comfort and in case my son Samuel should die before my daughter Philena Belknap, his third part to go to Philena Belknap in case Catherine Stanton should marry again her third part to go to James Stanton son of Catherine Stanton. My personal property to be divided into three equal parts, between my son Samuel my daughter Philena and Isaac Wood and lastly i hereby nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Philena Belknap Executrix and Isaac Wood Executor to this my last will and testament revoking all other wills testaments and Executors by me before made. In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six [5 Jul 1826]. and memory, (blessed be almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First, I do will and order that all my lawful debts and funeral charges be paid out of my personal property; Then I give unto my grand son, David Smith,(son of David Smith, deceased), of the residue of my personal property the sum of one dollar. I then do give and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal property unto my three daughters, Elinor Holbert, Hannah Mickens, and Ann Hunter (to be equally divided excepting the best coverlet which belongs to the bed on which I sleep that I do give to my daughter Ann Hunter; and the bed on which I sleep with the residue of the bedding belonging thereto, I do give and bequeath it unto my granddaughter Martha Meekins. These several legacies I will and order shall be paid to the said and respective legatees within one year after my decease. As to my freehold estate, I give and devise unto my two sons James Smith and Jesse Smith and to my two grandsons, Samuel Smith and William Smith, their heirs and assigns, All that part of my homestead farm lying within the following described boundaries (as lately marked out by myself, & my son Hophni Smith and the Rev. Hosea Ball) Beginning at the corner of Robert Arnold and Joseph Fitsgerald's land in the southerly line of my farm then following a straight course northeasterly to a small white ash tree (blazed and notched on two sides) standing on the north bank of a brook near the road that leads from my dwelling house to the Valley road_ thence along down the brook to a small Rock Oak Tree (blazed and notched on two sides) standing on the north bank of said brook by a fall of the waters and near the road that leads to the Valley road_ thence a straight corner northerly to a Rock Oak tree (blazed and notched on two sides) standing on a high bank on the westerly side of a small rill of water near a large sugar maple tree standing at the North end of a large rock or ledge to an Ironwood tree (blazed and notched on two sides standing in the wood near the gap in the fence that leads from side hill lot into spring lot _

To have and to hold unto them (the said James Smith, Jesse Smith, Samuel Smith and William Smith) their heirs and assigns forever. The remaining part of my homestead farm I give and devise unto my son Moses Smith, his heirs and assigns forever (upon the consideration that he, the said Moses Smith shall shall (sic) within three years after my decease pay to my executors the sum of sixty dollars to be added to my personal property and by them dispense according to the directions I have given above in relation to my personal estate) to have and to hold the same (all the rest residue and remainder of my homestead farm not herein otherwise disposed of) unto him the said Moses Smith, his heirs and assigns forever (I hereby recognize the children he had by his former wife Patty as well as those he has by the last wife Jane as heirs) Lastly, as to all the rest residue and remainder of my freehold estate, together with the residue of my right title and interest in Lot No 3 in the subdivision of Big Lot #12 being one equal fourth part undivided of said Lot No 3 except seventy acres in said fourth part which I have sold to Peter Townsend Jr. I give and bequeath unto my two sons Moses Smith and Hophni Smith their heirs and assigns forever. To have and to hold this same unto them the said Moses Smith and Hophni Smith their heirs and assigns forever.

I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made and appoint my son Hophni Smith and my grandson William Smith executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the first day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty [1 Mar 1830].
